Ways I Can Help
Your First Session
In the first session, you tell me what you hope to achieve through therapy. I, in turn, assess the realism of your goals and explain how they can be addressed. I also describe how therapy works, so that we share a clear understanding of the process and what we will be working on together.

Your Contribution
Awareness I
Here, we explore how the problematic situation that concerns you arises in your life. Special attention is given to the fast, automatic actions you may not notice—for example, suppressing emotions, ignoring your needs, or relying on limiting beliefs.

Awareness II
Between sessions, you begin to notice the automatic actions identified in the previous step. You may not be able to stop them yet, but simply being aware of what you are doing and why helps you approach yourself in these moments with greater respect and acceptance.

Adopting Alternative Behaviors
At this stage, you develop alternative ways to meet the needs that are currently served by the "problematic" behavior. For example, if the behavior is aimed at avoiding certain emotions, at this stage you will learn to work with your emotions in a way that no longer requires avoidance. Once a new method of meeting these needs is established, the need driving the problematic automatic behavior disappears, and the behavior itself fades.
